Our research focuses mainly on chemistry in the troposphere. Whether it's launching ozonesondes, or collecting data from our aircraft flights, we believe that understanding the atmosphere must begin with quality measurements.
The primary goal of the group is conducting research which sheds light on the climatology, trends, and mechanisms of the lower atmosphere. Secondary goals include maintaining archived data sets and data products so that the scientific community at large can make use of the information we've gathered from past experiments.
Our approach is multidisciplinary, as we realize that chemistry of the atmosphere is highly dependent on both the meteorology/ dynamics, and energetic balance of the system we are studying. Therefore in organizing the initial experimental campaigns, as well as in post campaign data analysis, we seek cooperation and guidance from our colleagues in these related atmospheric fields.
